Updated 2026 Production Calendar and Working Time Balance in Kazakhstan

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan has updated the Public Holidays and Days Off in 2026 as well as the Working Time Balance for 2026 following amendments to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Holidays.”

The key change is the transfer of Constitution Day from August 30 to March 15, which has resulted in adjustments to the number of working and non-working days, as well as the annual working time norms for 2026.

 

What Has Changed

The Production Calendar is one of the most important planning tools for employers, accountants, and HR professionals. It serves as the basis for calculating working time standards, payroll, vacation pay, compensation payments, and employee work schedules. Therefore, following these legislative amendments, employers are advised to review their calculations and update the relevant indicators.

According to the updated calendar, the annual working time standards for 2026 are:

40-hour working week:

• ~ Five-day workweek – 1,976 hours (247 working days);
• ~ Six-day workweek – 1,993 hours.

36-hour working week:

• ~ Five-day workweek – 1,778.4 hours;
• ~ Six-day workweek – 1,794 hours.
