If the founder is a foreign individual, a copy of the passport or another identity document together with a notarized translation into Kazakh and Russian must be submitted. Although Kazakhstan’s legislation allows companies to use a standard Charter, many businesses prefer to prepare a customized Charter that clearly regulates corporate governance, allocation of powers, and decision-making procedures.

 

How LLP Registration Is Carried Out

Today, an LLP may be registered through several channels. The most commonly used option is registration via the eGov.kz portal, which allows the entire procedure to be completed online. Registration may also be completed through a Public Service Center (PSC). The presence of a foreign founder does not automatically prevent online registration. However, in order to submit an application through the eGov portal, the foreign founder must have an Individual Identification Number (IIN), be registered in Kazakhstan’s government information systems, and be able to sign the application using an Electronic Digital Signature (EDS). In all other cases, the registration documents must be submitted through a Public Service Center. When an electronic application is submitted, most information is automatically retrieved from the government information systems. Once the application has been signed using an Electronic Digital Signature, the registration is generally completed within one business day.
